3 ways to meal prep without losing your mind

3 ways to meal prep without losing your mind

Meal Prepping has been a buzz word for years now and frankly it’s the best way to be in control of what you eat. Planning ahead meals sound so simple but in practice it can really drive you crazy. Trust me I know! I would meal plan perfectly on Sunday afternoon but by Wednesday I would get tired of whatever I prepared and would resort to eating out. I quickly wasted hundreds of dollars of perfectly good food that went straight to the trash.

If you can relate to that then try changing your meal prep by not making it so rigid.

  1. Create some variety with foods you actually like. – Eating baked chicken with broccoli everyday may get you to your results but if you’re anything like me it will drive you crazy! My best hack is to create simple variety. Start the week we two proteins (chicken and salmon are a great start) and pair that with three veggie options (broccoli, green beans and kale) and depending on your specific goals add avocado, sweet potatoes or rice. The key here is to create some options so you don’t get tired of eating the exact same things.

  2. Eat out – I know that sounds crazy but hear me out. Plan during the week to have a “freestyle” day where you can eat out (within reason don’t go crazy). Sometimes you need something to look forward to.

  3. Cook it fresh – One thing that helped me with my dinner is once or twice a week I will cook my dinner fresh, I really get tired of just using the microwave! I prep all the ingredients ahead of time (cut veggies, season proteins) and cook once I’m home. Having an air fryer has really sped up cooking time for me so even on nights like this I’m not in the kitchen for too long.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other tips on how to stay on top of meal prepping without going crazy!
